American multinational doughnut and coffee company Krispy Kreme will open its first store in Morocco on 9 August.
The new venue is part of a partnership with franchise Americana and a key step in the brand’s growth plan to bring its doughnuts and coffee to customers on a global scale.
“Our decision to enter the Moroccan market is part of our broader expansion strategy in the Middle East and North Africa region. We know our iconic doughnuts and coffee will add an extra touch of joy to Moroccan consumers and bolster our presence in this crucial market,” says Krispy Kreme Chief Development Officer Raphael Duvivier.
According to the company, the new location in Morocco will feature a wide and varied selection of doughnuts, including its iconic original glazed doughnut and chocolate, hazelnut, and fruit confections. To suit a range of customer preferences, the brand will also introduce cream-filled and jam-filled doughnuts, along with vegan and gluten-free options.
To cater specifically for the Moroccan palate, the bakery has also developed a range of bespoke doughnuts, including a caramel flavour inspired by the sweetness of two local desserts: dulce de leche and churros. To complement the baked goods, a diverse range of beverages will also be on offer including cappuccinos, lattes, various teas, and fruit frappes.
To celebrate the launch of the new store, an event will invite attendees to enjoy a variety of activities and participate in a raffle to win a year’s supply of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
In its commitment to supporting local economy, the company has partnered with Moroccan suppliers to source some of its ingredients and materials. By collaborating with local producers, the brand hopes to form mutually beneficial business relationships.
